eCommerce is increasingly popular not only for its convenience and variety, in some cases it’s the only way people are able to shop; whether due to reduced mobility, pandemic restriction policies, or just a busy lifestyle…
Drawing on our extensive experience with designing around footwear, including award winning foot measuring technology for Clarks, we saw an opportunity to assist those consumers who were less able to make it into retailers to get their feet measured.
With anthropometric datasets from SATRA, our custom-built mobile app is able to calculate the width, length and also predicted height of a foot from a simple outline. The Pinpoint hardware provides consumers an out of the box solution to creating this outline predictably and repeatably, even when an impatient child is the one providing the foot.
Accordingly Pinpoint was adopted by M&S in 2021 for their kids footwear line.
Getting the right fit first time means greater comfort and convenience for the consumer, and saves the retailer the time, money and carbon waste of returns.
