Rooster booster
Designworks team combine their talents and experience to ensure festival-goers stay connected and don’t miss a beat.
Three weeks prior to the gates of Worthy Farm opening for the much-awaited 2022 Glastonbury festival, Designworks Windsor was tasked to design and construct the world’s first connected Wi-Fi Rooster.
Working alongside M&C Saatchi and Glastonbury’s official technology partner, EE, we sustainably developed The EE ‘Rooster Booster’ using FSC-certified plywood and reused ethernet cables. The rooster provided not only a vital boost of Wi-Fi for the festival-goers but essential reminders and information regarding upcoming artist sets.
Designworks’ workshop technicians and designers applied techniques that we have learned from previous projects such as Instaputt, working with constructing plywood in a unique way. This project was turned around quickly to meet the constantly changing demands of the client and delivered and installed by our team who hand-delivered the Rooster to Glastonbury.
