Music festivals are great for seeing all your fave bands, soaking up the super-charged atmosphere and generally…partying, they’re not so great for network coverage, keeping your beloved iPhone clean or frankly, the accommodation. Well that’s all about to change…
Telecoms giant EE, Glastonbury Festival’s official technology and communications partner, wanted to create the world’s first connected smart tent for the legendary 3 day music and cultural festival. This digital oasis boasted the latest in custom built Fest-Tech, including; high-speed 4G network access, live-streams from all the main stages, proximity detection, homing beacon, Wi-Fi Hotspot, exclusive VR content, Smart Beverage Dispenser complete with concierge service, solar-powered climate control, music streaming and integrated voice-activated lighting, all housed in a futuristic geodesic dome.
Design, build, install and tech-support services were provided as part of this installation.
